Liam Battle presents a lecture on Kaija Saariaho’s major solo cello work Sept Papillons. This lecture will introduce Saariaho’s composition, discuss ideas on how to approach this work, and discuss the value of Saariaho’s work in building a contemporary canon. This will be followed by Liam’s performance of the work. The lecture is hosted by the Cleveland Cello Society!
